Pain's Requiem

"vodka stained words            
containing violence            
slips through my jaded hiss "-     poured vodka,packing charcoal on parchment
screams poured out as cursive
cunning as the snakes seaweed green grip

             
"sullen & bereft            
of voice              
i linger somewhere in the shadows" - soaking & barefoot
a white lace dress        
the shadows control the contortionist
             
"where my promised tomorrows have gone            
they fled with the lies of yesterday          
all beauty undone within an omission  "-  sparrows vacant among twig nests
field of trees lie barren
torn at the seems
apples rotting in the orchard        
             
"my soul is hunted            
hated & wretched            
with aborted hope that just won't die"-   the most dangerous game
sought with a harvest sickle        

             
"i connive & climb            
the ivy of despair            
that grows over my home            
& chokes the life from it "-     falling deeper from freedoms fringe
shackled,yellow glow sticks light the night
but the breath never comes.      
             
"the vine of deceit            
wraps round & round            
it strangles the truth          
before it can be uttered   "-    grasping for truth
inserting screws into teeth
connecting the wire to live wall sockets
searing ideas      
             
"fear its weapon            
it shrieks becoming a monster            
an entity so large            
it has several personalities"-  wiping the slate clean
we are the terror in children's minds  
fearful our feet no longer tap the floor          
             
"one of love & softness            
she winks sideways            
at the madness"- tender is the touch of a warm stranger
gracing us with eyes the same
sink me in your life
if quicksand could be quicker
             
"another that of the thief            
steals the breath of today            
leaving my nights broken  "-   to catch a thief    
fetching bones from the backyard
brought fourth by necromancers    
             
"it hurts when you seek the sun            
to collide into the black            
where your newborn thoughts            
& wishes are smothered"-  tears taught us how to live
you taught me how to breathe

your wish is my command            
             
"the last is the most sinister            
it gives me a glimpse of a happy future            
just to destroy it"-  it dragged us from miles before they realized what had happened
there was nothing left by that time
