My lava lamp cocktail shaker
Your soda pop crack then fizzed
you looked like that girl that went amiss
45p council estate champagne
till disorganized thoughts flee from your brain
I dont know what i have to do to please you
but this tablecloth is getting in the way
i'll pull it from under the glasses and tuck it into your negligee
You looked like that girl that went amiss
wasnt you found dead with sugar on your lips
then 'round your tongue you stretched cherry flavoured gum
popped a bubble at me tryin' to distract me
from seeing the ghost of who you could be
I'll gamble the contents of my thoughts
you and me bind like chlorine in your deshevelled beach hair
the romance never got old, it just was never really there,
for you that obsidian grin wore doubt what still moves within me
my lips telling you lies i cant afford,
and you wore it like a smile over a string of pearls,
you could pour me a pitcher and topple my world
your no man if you cant have a cry with your girl
i see you beyond the confounds of my own expectation
I'll steal my invitation, 'cause i havent the time and patience
i hate to spoil the surprise but your not how you seem in your own mind
though this isn't the time by the snuffed candles dying light
the embers spark coaked out my load and brought comfort back home
something has settled in and it wont leave accordingly
