Oregano
Green spice laces
the air in this place
a spiked savory haven
taken
in heated
heady
Venetian zest
hot, hot & heavy
pungent tastes
"Joy of the mountains"
I'll concur & attest
though infusions are best
without eating the rest
Vanilla
Sweet light alights
over buds
like bright tastes
of sunrises over snow
Thick paste slips you
tiny beans with sheer hints
balmy as it goes

For the spices comp. HOWEVER; I'm pretty into herbs and aromatherapy, so I'm not stopping here. It's a theme I wanted to explore anyway, a comp is just an excellent excuse. I'm including 2 flavors per poem, so I don't have quite as many little entries floating around.

AtoMik.. i dig this.. a lot.. takes talent to make a good poem, out of spices.. but on another level i love cooking.. it's relaxing to me.. nice ink.. much respect, and love..

Thank you! These were tough, it took a while to grapple with the perfect words when every little one counts in such short phrases. I'm not sure I nailed it with them, there a others I'm waiting to post since I'm in a poem backup.

I know I have read these in reverse order - but it made no difference to my absolute delight of the series I am convinced you could even do a beautiful poem about the phone directory :-)
