Honest Reflection
But don’t
we all crave
release?
From the effects
of our own
sufferings?
Whatever
they may be.
We must see
with eyes
unscathed,
the furnishings
of our own
personal
destructions;
coping patterns.
Greet your
demons,
feed them
full of love;
forgiveness.
Do you believe this?
How far will you
choose to go
to lay rest
your ego?
The release
of all suffering…
How far
will you take it,
and in which
direction?
Does it benefit
all involved?
Our own
distractions
can hide
truths unseen
within us all;
dark in
the seams
of what we’ve sown,
twisted obscene
onward we grow…
to reach
what exactly?
I think we
all know;
contentment
and love
and happiness
for all.

Re. Honest Reflection
beautiful Nightbird so right on with your thinking
embracing our demons as friends
something I need to learn to do..
I absolutely love this write
you've a beautiful mind
& lines like this show it..
"dark in
the seams
of what we’ve sown,
twisted obscene
onward we grow…"
so stunning in its truth
& beauty..

another beautiful poem asking very important question - some suggestions sound Utopian but yet to be desired after all if you don't strive for the best then at the most you are settling for second best. I am now off the belief that if we have not achieved personal happiness then we can't make others happy - sometimes we consider others too much and to our own detrement. As you can see this poem was inspirational - had me thinking stuff out :-)
thank you for sharing this :-) Hugs! :-)

:) Thank you kind Raven. I try not to lose sight of this truth, but lately I mull over the imaginary lines of limitations. Where are they drawn? How flexible do they bend?
Re: Re. Honest Reflection
yes beautiful poetess you have a point I am fighting with my own limitations currently & don't know if they are self imposed or otherwise.. may me strive together to find answers on these deep & poetic pages.. ~Raven

For all indeed, Gem. Not just ourselves. I Love the compassionate inclusion of this necessity as the ending thought.
Wonderful poem.
Wonderful poem.

Thanks Ahavati :) This was after my poem “Patience is a Virtue” (thanks for the RL add on that btw) ...I always try to reflect after such anger.
