Treasures Within Life's Journey

Pitch to me your wonders
that I may catch your gifts
I promise they may slumber
and never set adrift

Spring's sweet rains and Summer's greens
Autumn's colors red
Winter's white, a blanket soft
residing in my head

Oh send with me I beg you please
from the very start
for travels aren't as lonesome
when they're within my heart

Do not forget the ocean's blue
shared with the sky above
and flowers with their many hues
the sight of which I love

And do not leave behind
gentle clouds in flight
or brightness of the stars above
the beauty in my nights

Nor the songs that birds do sing
from the stoutest trees
and leave not out the butterflies,
small animals and bees

For without these treasured gifts
I fear a tiresome road
'till finally I will rest in peace
relieved of heavy loads
