Reflection
One can beat a dog for not acting like a human
and yet show it love and it will be more human
than the one who beats it.
I say, better to beat the human for not acting like a dog.

Honestly. We should be more like dogs. Humans can be gross sometimes. Great write!

If we showed the love a cared for dog does, the human race would be a lot better species.

Dogs are born to be loved! Some humans should never have the honor of being loved by a dog.

So, so, true. If you have not yet watched the movie "A Dog's Purpose", I urge you to do so, but I warn you, have some tissues handy.
Many thanks, JJ

Re: Re. Reflection
When one refers to a man of bad behavior as being a dog, the insult is not to the man, but rather the dog.
Thanks as always CF.

i had a dog
saved me from a beating once
without need to maim, just a good ole snarly bark
& loved me, even on my grumpy days
dogs, more than human
thank you for reflection, i miss him

So very sorry to hear he is no longer with you. I too have lost a few long term companions, but my girl now keeps me company like a shadow. Don't even want to think about being without her. A good old Junkyard Dog can be better than a can of mace. Thank You for sharing that. Teri

I love this so much and it is so true - love your dog and it will love you back and I say that from experience. I have lost two dogs and I was devastated when they died - to me they are just wee pleasant people. I have a new dog now 11 months old - I couldn't be without a dog :-)

Re: Re. Reflection
Your comments here are so very true. Even a dog not shown much love will love you with all it's heart and you won't find that with many people. I am sorry you have lost a couple, but I'm sure they received much love and care while they were with you, so, take comfort in that fact. I'm also pleased you have opened your home and heart to another, for so many never receive that opportunity.
Take care my friend and thank you for the read and comment, for it means so much to me.

I've never seen a dog nor any animal other than the human animal act out of anger or vengeance, and we call ourselves civilized.
