Cat Haikus 7.0
(i) Stolen
The fridge door opened
by a smooth feline stranger
the cat's got the cream
(ii) Safe
bookshelf way too high
so much for the cat burglar
the cat treats are safe
(iii) Music
nursery rhyme cat
whimsical and musical
as he plays the fiddle
(iv) Cute
I have a kitten
so cute when he plays and jumps
little white ball of fluff
(v) Happy
my cat is happy
my cat smiles such a lot
he is from Cheshire
(vi) Royalty
so where have you been
my pussy cat, pussy cat
Queens garden party?
(vii) Halo
he lost his mitten
I'm smitten with my kitten
he can do no wrong

Re. Cat Haikus 7.0
Cat claws climbing on
Haikus evolving smartly
You and kitten click.
Fat cat sleeps in bed
Catnip fun has him too tired
Slim dreams in his head.
Maine Coon purrs deeply
Laying between my spread legs
Fingers rub his head.
Black and white Miss Priss
Marching across the carpet
Kitty paws lead on.
My favorite pet
The theme of your poetry
Thank you for the write.

Yay kitties! When you write about cats you're pawsitively gonna have some love from me because it's the purrfect subject according to my part cat heart. Great topic to dig your claws into. Thanks for the smile.

I am not a big fan of cats but they do fascinate me, my son has three and they are very entertaining and smart. How can anyone see a kitten and have their heart melt :-) Love the comments, especially the puns :-)

David....for these Haiku, the highest of praises...each one creatively whimsical....the realistic situations, so very spot on! My own little grey Tabby is absolutely notorious for opening the refrigerator, and helping herself to whatever she desires! And, some of her favorite places, to 'cat-nap', are those at the highest elevations-- ( as on the top shelves of book-cases, and closets!)
Each, and every one of these, brought smile, after smile, and filled me with warm fuzzies!! :)
My special kitty (er...ummm...excuse me--'fur-person'), and i, thank you for sharing!

I also enjoyed the Cheshire cat rhyme with a laugh, I don't think haikus were known to Lewis Carroll when he put the cat in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. (BTW Cheshire was the county Lewis Carroll was born in.)

Okay, you gotta know I'm squealing over here across the pond. Bouncing in my chair and giggling over the kitties! Yup, I'm a nerd! So much fun, these! Lots of squishy hugs for you! :)
