Liaison In Red

Stolen moments love affair
The train just pulling in
Parting bitter sorrow
Their tears blending when they kiss

But she recalls that rampant lust
His desperation to lay her flat
To thrust away her breaking heart
As if tomorrow's gone
As if there's no way back

He watches as she boards the train
Waves briskly as it clatters off
He consults his antique watch
His wife awaits, both whore and maid,
Considering the proper blade.
