better than your wife
I'm just a side piece
Someone youre stringing along like a puppeteer
And somehow no matter what
When you call out my name
I will always come running
Like youre the last drop of water
To quench my thirst
In the whole world
My heart feigns only for you
When yours does not for me
This is a one sided romance
And a one sided rebound
Let me into your life
But only two days a week
And when youre on the way home
Delete all your texts and pictures from me
Change my contact name
Into someone I'm allowed to be
Block the number just incase
Forget me until next tuesday
And kiss your wife
With the same lips
That have been kissing my hips
Wear your wedding ring
On the finger that slides inside of me
With your tongue at the top
Tell me that I'm even better than your wife
As im flicking my tongue ring against the tip
Making you swear to god i'm the best
Hold me so close and bind my pieces together
Give me 48 hour butterflies
And 96 hour heartbreak
That seems to drag on for ages
Biting my nails and pulling my hair
Cannot console this seething separation anxiety
That morphs minutes into hours
And the horizon never closes in
And the clock Stops ticking
Because it's tired of keeping up with
The days I'm allowed to be loved
And which days I'm almost good enough
But just didn't make the cut
The Sahara subsides gently inside my heart
The dust and empty space are overflowing
My emotions and bursting at the seams
Tearing the blue velvet enclosure
Which is meant to take a mean hit
It's finally unraveling inside of my chest
Falling to pieces, chaos and silence
All at one time and never look back
Do not bestow undeserved gazes upon
those who undervalue rare treasures
And steal the light from your eyes
But you never stole the light
You kindled the smallest of flames
Into a raging wildfire, fierce, but breakable
Your heart in my ear is
the sweetest symphony Ive ever heard
Beautifully sad, tragic
But perfect
Someone youre stringing along like a puppeteer
