write poetry like no one is reading

This is the exact way poetry should be written, for oneself first, then others have a clearer insight to the poet.

So well spoken in so few words.

a kindred spirit    
agreement is natural.    
 
as indicated    
on my profile  
the reason for my writing  
is the inking of expression  
in its purity  
and for no other reason    
 
the word  
expression  
is deeper  
than  is normally realized.    
 
others  
have other  
very valid reasons too.    
 
A peer's affirmation  
is a reward  
in delight.

A clarification on my initial comment, for I was not clear enough.  Valid reasons are plentiful, my meaning was, poetry should be written from the perspective of the poet, from their heart and not merely to garner praise or agreement from the reader.    
My error for not spending more time on my comment the first time.  
I believe we are both in agreement here.

this was a very easy add but a not so easy comment. in ways, it touches on a series of conversation i've shared recently with another poet iro audiences, authenticity, intimacy & writing.
we reached the same conclusion..

there is  poetry
for the audience
for the pleasure of the audience
for the applause of the audience

nothing what-so-ever wrong with that

then
there is poetry
for the sheer pleasure
of expression
in  its purity

the un-burdened
the unadulterated
delivery
the inking  

This is how we should write poetry, straight up from the heart and not for the reader, in the end it's a better experience for the reader. Great write.
