Penumbrae

Faith bears witness
in the dark aftermath;
its presence edging outskirts

Our plumed anxiety dissolved
by wonderous Belief

Already we've forgotten Its Omen
resplendence returning
hopeful within the firmament

Sometimes there isn't a God
unleashing the Kracken
from the Great Spirit's rib cage
to destroy relentlessly

Sometimes the Universe
tires of synchronizing Fate
overlooked by fearful ignorance

Sometimes Source itself says
Enough of the obvious;

Penumbrae

Presses Its callused Will
into a molasses mushroom;
extinguishes Light

in the absence of Balance, asks
Now do you see Destiny?

Spirits weary in Heart
by potential loss, whisper

c l e a r l y
