A Choice of Voices
The voices filter from above
Boil up from below
One offering the kindness of home
A touch on the shoulder, whisper in the ear
She will comfort me
Point out that pulsing light
It's search completed at last
Others wield words that wound
Weapons uttered in triumph
Blood and tears filling a rusted flask
The libation of brutality
Sipped in triumph as the hunt goes by
Others offer me their flawless tones
An empathy that shines
What acolyte infers the night
When an angel will assume the light.

Oh this is really good ... I love the imagery ... "touch on the shoulder, whisper in the ear" - "Blood and tears filing a rusted flask" ... but then ... "When an angel will assume the light" ... "assume" is just perfect with this line. Bravo!

I love trying to find pics that come at least close to fitting. If not I might tinker a bit. Poetic defacement or license? A tough call sometimes. Thanks Taryn!

in all that darkness,
an angel brings a little light;
we can hear the song...
