The Me You See

is what you get
my essence however
is one
of many colors
the shadows within me
are there
to give me pause for reflection
there are also
colliding emotions
making dark clouds and lightning
which stalks through
my mind
if you were able to see the storms
you'd likely
believe I was quite insane
psst!
those who know me quite well
might confirm
that assessment with a wink
still . . . my quintessence
is like that babbling brook
alive with life's being
on the whole
I consider myself to be
a phenomenon
all of my inner expressions
form me
however you may see me
as I stand before you
