Loving Me

Why do you act like I'm hard to love?
When we both know I am worth it
This isn't my ego screaming at you
I am worth loving, that is my decree
You are not required to love me
But you should not act like this,
That depression, my mental illness
Makes me a lesser person to love
Like my chemical imbalances make me
Unworthy of love from anyone here
Love shouldn't be an afterthought and
Love shouldn't be a reward for conformity
