Run
Rise up
With the morning light
Stretch toward Heaven
Fending off the night
Over to my window
Look out at the view
My entire body smiles
Carefully, I lace up my shoes
Will I need music?
I never really know
Until my feet hit the pavement
My mind gets ready to go
Early morning dew
Glistens in the sun
I am right in this moment
As I begin to run
Feel the mist of the morning
Hear birds singing a cheerful song
One, two, one, two
My pace carries me along
The pounding of my feet
As each step hits the asphalt
My worries slip away
I let go of my faults
My body begins to sweat
My heart begins to race
Leaving the past behind
Not fearing what future I face
I hit that stride I love
I am serene for a while
I am a runner
Always running for that extra mile
With the morning light
Stretch toward Heaven
Fending off the night
Over to my window
Look out at the view
My entire body smiles
Carefully, I lace up my shoes
Will I need music?
I never really know
Until my feet hit the pavement
My mind gets ready to go
Early morning dew
Glistens in the sun
I am right in this moment
As I begin to run
Feel the mist of the morning
Hear birds singing a cheerful song
One, two, one, two
My pace carries me along
The pounding of my feet
As each step hits the asphalt
My worries slip away
I let go of my faults
My body begins to sweat
My heart begins to race
Leaving the past behind
Not fearing what future I face
I hit that stride I love
I am serene for a while
I am a runner
Always running for that extra mile
