sisterhood of the forest
my soul drifts to the forest today
the scent of pine
is beckoning me
within the great majesty of the place
we were once wild & free
long before our spirits became flesh
we danced among
these mighty denizens
naked & unashamed
innocent in our frolicking
we collected pine cones
daisies adorned our hair
we were kissed by the gods
& allowed free reign
of this magical kingdom
where the secrets
we whispered
were heard but kept
by these ancient sentinels
my sisters & I played here
in our forming time
our souls were brand new
not yet ready to be born
into the mortal realm
so delicate in nature
we were empathic
felt each other's newness
understood the wonders of the universe
we knelt at the river of knowledge
& were nourished
*for my lovely one FromTheAsh who took me here today
