Not Predicted
Upon our first encounter
full of fire and passion
we were truly captivated
Young and idealistic
our desires set ablaze
devoted and elated
Unconditional we thought
but far too immature
to reap what we cultivated
As that which burns too brightly
just as quickly dissipates
easily we underestimated
Bruised and wounded
yet amicable goodbye
we mutually vacated
Our history was tragic
soul mates sadly lost
then love was recreated
Affections rekindled
a rare second chance
adoration rejuvenated
Lovers once again
now husband and wife
beautifully celebrated

Oh David...most of my life was/can be a completed train wreck...but this, while not always rainbows and butterflies, is completely true:) Quite lucky I believe.
