Ancient Murmurs

I'm in a lonesome place
I talk to the sea
it stays hushed & silent
the waves don't utter their secrets

the sea spray
kisses my skin
& says in time my friend
you will one day have the key
to unlock my wisdom

the wind blows across my face
whips my hair about
I can't decipher it's bold language
it's foreign to me

I'm on the steps of change
they lead up or down
I'm on a landing
not knowing which way to go

a wise man would say
go up if you wish to reach the summit
I've already beheld
the bowels of the Earth

the mountains lay witness
to all that unfolds
within nature & mankind

I want my blindfold removed
to decode the ancient murmurs
the primal stirrings within me
to understand
& so it is said
so shall it be
