Weeding Your Garden
Even in sadness your verse brings a smile to my face
There is so much loneliness I want to repeal and replace
I see all of you in the ink you spill out in poetry
As in me there is art forming out of necessity
A bloodletting to expel the poison sedating a fearful heart
That burns to spread ashes upon a fiery blackheart
For ages we've been close yet our paths never crossed before
Two leaky lifeboats have carried our empty hearts too far from the shore
Adrift up a creek without a paddle is how our lives have seemed
Raise your sails and I will take you places you have dreamed
Letting storm winds alter your course is the most natural thing to do
If Mother Nature made your warm breeze blow, would you pollinate me too?
I want to plant rhymes in your mind that take root in your soul
To make the rain that dampened your heart inspire new life to grow
Let me till the soil that feeds your muse with the pulse flowing deep inside
To make lows slide to highs on our rollercoaster ride
Together our stems entwine to rise up above the cloudy sky
Discovering the Sun was all we needed to get the perfect high
Holding hands as our ink illustrates the amity of minstrels
On solitary nights when loneliness was our chosen mistress
So many times hope won the race to be the first one that departs
When blackness colored the canvas that portrayed two lonely hearts
Desolation doesn't have to be so if we reap the poetry we sew
From the seeds of creativity, bloom in unity as the harmony we know
There is so much loneliness I want to repeal and replace
I see all of you in the ink you spill out in poetry
