desert winds
you are the warm winds
that blow across my desert
*
you circle in my skies
a mighty hawk
*
with passion in my blood
I call to you caw, caw
*
primal is my desire for you
wild in nature
you belong to none
*
untamed
your will has carved canyons
in my soul
*
a mighty river courses
through my veins
my body remains scorched
& parched
*
in need of the summer rains
my curves the Earth
is starved for your essence
*
you the mighty hawk
circles in my skies
forever out of reach
*
my lust
a bleached skeleton
in the red desert sands

Re. desert winds
Loved, loved, loved this other side of you, Brenda. The Hawk. A mighty symbol of being free and doing what it must to survive. Timeless lessons abide within this formidable creature to those who trifle with it. It uses nature and is one with it. Again, we could learn many lessons from.

Oh, my Lovely, Crim.
It has been awhile since I read you.
My apologies.
But, and as always, I still remain hinged to your poetic trinkets.
Totally out of your comfort zone,
but there really is no argument on how versatile you are.
You've proven it here,
and in many others before.
This is stunning.
~love you, Devlin

There is such a sweet calming overflow which cascades, as the heart reads these beautiful words.
I know the feeling of a deep connecting passion, which calms your stormy waves. The soul, heart and mind ....consistently craves that very thing.
This is absolutely beautiful.

Perhaps out of reach but never out of sight. I believe this hawk is also deep within. This is a remarkably aching piece, lovely one. It's a burning, almost barren feeling piece. Beautifully written :)

My Beautiful Brenda, when you go to this place...you so easily take us there with you...your talent holds no bounds...always in awe of you...you always bring light to my days...I hate the fact that right now I am unable to snuggle with you as we ache together...
I love you so much!

Love this one! What I love the most about it, is that you managed to incorporate (don't know a better word) the 'theme' in each and every stanza... the imagery you thereby created is just stunning!
"your will has carved canyons in my soul" > these lines are pure artistry!
Amazing write, dear Crim

Bren, when you hit the nail on the head you drive it through flesh and bone all the way to the bottom of the heart with the first mighty strike! The imagery in this piece is inspiring! The bittersweetness of "forever out of reach" emotes as much emotional power as the fire of desire burning within you...
