Death of a Flower
I feel like a wilted flower
crushed petals and full of sadness
He tells me of his love
of how it once was
What can be done to fix the past
To hold on to what we had
keeping it safe from dying
I ran and didn't know why I was running
But I wanted to be chased
all he had to do was come after me
He would have
if I made it clear to him
And his arms would have grabbed me
held me close to his body
His voice that I miss so much
would have been enough
Now that it's too late
I see he was my nourishment
The air I needed and the fire
that lights up my soul
crushed petals and full of sadness
He tells me of his love
of how it once was
What can be done to fix the past
To hold on to what we had
keeping it safe from dying
I ran and didn't know why I was running
But I wanted to be chased
all he had to do was come after me
He would have
if I made it clear to him
And his arms would have grabbed me
held me close to his body
His voice that I miss so much
would have been enough
Now that it's too late
I see he was my nourishment
The air I needed and the fire
that lights up my soul
