Homesick
i don’t feel anything
anymore i feel
too much
touch
it’s been too long
this heart is
cold
hold
this weary body
teach me to
feel
reveal
the beauty in me
don’t leave
please
ease
these secret scars
unfreeze my
flesh
caress
my godforsaken skin
shelter my soul
and see
(me)
read what’s beneath
the fragile stories
forbidden
hidden
deep inside my soul
carried on my
own
alone
shall i find my home?
or should i roam
in the wild
child
know you are loved
please let go
of the
past
anymore i feel
too much
touch
it’s been too long
this heart is
cold
hold
this weary body
teach me to
feel
reveal
the beauty in me
don’t leave
please
ease
these secret scars
unfreeze my
flesh
caress
my godforsaken skin
shelter my soul
and see
(me)
read what’s beneath
the fragile stories
forbidden
hidden
deep inside my soul
carried on my
own
alone
shall i find my home?
or should i roam
in the wild
child
know you are loved
please let go
of the
past

You make me smile big time, Willow!
I know you love this piece! Wrap your fingers around this gem and hold it close again: I can't express how much these words mean to me...
Thank you so much for your comment and taking her home with you!!!

I've read that quote before. A few times. It really sticks out to me. Love the poem that follows. It's something that I can deeply relate to.

First off: you are my number one commenter today... hooray :-)
I have a lot of quotes that are dear to me, but this is one of my favorites!
Thank you for sharing you can relate to this one! In the short time I've been here, I met more people who are like me than I did before in real life... this place feels like home!
I really appreciate your comments!

Chivo is number one!! Woot woot!! (Chivo is what the Mexicans call me at work, it means Goat in Spanish) I hear that phrase over and over. Chivo is number one.
Lol. Anyway, we click! I like that. I find myself drawn to people who are attentive, inquisitive, and vocal. Real, soulful types. Like you.

This is a case of too many compliments in one comment for a proper reply ;-)
I'll leave it at: thank you for your smile inducing words!

Oh wow... you blow me away with your comment!
This piece was written really fast (in comparison with how I normally write) and once it was finished I thought it might be a bit weird...
Then again... these are my thoughts and feelings ;-)
I'm so glad you could feel my words... I can't ask for a better compliment!

I feel this one intensely, not too sure what a home is anymore. I had to do without completely several years ago, and things are marginal right now.
it’s been too long
this heart is
cold
My heart isn't cold but it's pretty numb at times. I just don't know if there's really all that much worth missing. Family? Security? No guarantees. Friends are the way to go if all else fails. That and maybe praying if one's so inclined. I think your poems more personal, a love write rather than lines about dysfunction, so I'm probably projecting over what you actually intended. This is powerful work in any case Duende even if my interpretation's off.

Thank you so much for your comment, Crowfly!
I'm glad to hear it resonates with you and at the same time I'm sorry that you feel the same!
I can't imagine how it must have been like to have no home!
Well... there is a lot of love in my heart, so it isn't really cold, but the words came that way (sometimes it feels cold) and I decided to let it be! I tried to avoid too much editing and overthinking with this one (I tend to do that) and just release it as it is...
It's open for interpretation... that's the beauty about poetry!

This one really spoke to me, Duende, a perfect expression of what it is to be homesick, to long for that place that feels like home when you have not yet found it. Thanks for sharing...

Beautiful, dear Duende. :) You have me a little teary-eyed, I must say... Feeling a little lost right now myself. :)
I want to say more, but sometimes, I speak better in hugs. So I send you some with my love. <3
