Underwater World
we find each other in sea spells
in waves of wishes and whispers
in our sensuous underwater world
where we play in pearlescent aqua
dancing together as mer lovers do
within shades of jade and azure
hungry lips kiss in divine bliss
as longing arms find heaven
spiralling upward in desire
our tails entwined forever
the corals dance tenderly
mirror a rhythm of rapture
we let our spirits drift away
losing ourselves in turquoise
flocks of sea butterflies flutter by
the dolphins cry a mystifying hymn
while we swim and submerge in lust
our souls set free in the realm of sea
releasing everything we used to be
in the depths of the aquamarine
in waves of wishes and whispers
in our sensuous underwater world
where we play in pearlescent aqua
dancing together as mer lovers do
within shades of jade and azure
hungry lips kiss in divine bliss
as longing arms find heaven
spiralling upward in desire
our tails entwined forever
the corals dance tenderly
mirror a rhythm of rapture
we let our spirits drift away
losing ourselves in turquoise
flocks of sea butterflies flutter by
the dolphins cry a mystifying hymn
while we swim and submerge in lust
our souls set free in the realm of sea
releasing everything we used to be
in the depths of the aquamarine

I can't help but think of the Jimi Hendrix song "A Merman I Shall Turn To Be." I love this aquatic fantasy, dreaming of underwater delights. My favorite lines:
we let our spirits drift away
losing ourselves in turquoise
Beautifully visualized with a spiritual undercurrent. Fine job!

Thank you so much for your comment and for mentioning that song...
I love Jimi Hendrix, but didn't know it? Great song!
You made me smile by highlighting those lines!
At the end of the editing process I removed two lines I didn't like and replaced them with these, because I wanted turquoise (my favorite color) in the poem :-)
I really appreciate your support and words!

Re: Re. Underwater World
Wow... that's an amazing compliment!
Thank you so much, Aemelia!
You made me smile by mentioning the last two stanzas... I wrote them first (and then the first two and after that the rest) It's not that I have a connection with the underwater world (though my real name means Pearl) but I was always fascinated by everything magical and mystical, so this competition really spoke to me :-)
I really appreciate your visit and comment!

This is such a beautifully written piece. This is by far one of my favorites of yours. I was captivated and I hope that you win. The colors and imagery really come to life.

Oh the confluence of alliteration here is astounding!! This reads like a beautiful rolling wave! And, hot too! There's something mysterious and sexy about mermaids.

Thank you so much for another amazing comment!
I love this poem, so I embrace every comment she receives :-)
My work is really diverse and sometimes I try to focus on alliteration, sound, flow (not that good with terminology) so I appreciate it a lot that you mention that, thank you!

Re. Underwater World
ooohhhh...to think i almost i missed out on this?!..
thanks for mentioning this Duende...
lotsa metaphorical morsels you got here..
'we find each other in sea spells
in waves of wishes and whispers '
'the corals dance tenderly
mirror a rhythm of rapture '
'flocks of sea butterflies flutter by
the dolphins cry a mystifying hymn '
sea butterflies flutter by...sigh***
love that original play on words..
what i also dig is your overt/covert use of colors
graciously spaced throughout this gem
jade,azure,turquoise,aquamarine..
what a subtle yet sensual marination
of deep sea hues painted with such
delicate strokes..
this was one helluva entry for
Jade's comp

Re: Re. Underwater World
You're welcome!
When I released this poem I though 'if someone is gonna love it, it's Naajir' so I was a bit surprised to not find your comment and I'm glad I decided to mention it!
You make me smile by mentioning the 'sea butterlies' stanza, because that is one of my favorites, together with the 'mirror a rhythm of rapture'
I'm also very delighted that you mention the use of colours! I did that for the first time in Indigo and I knew I wanted to write another colour poem one day...
I can't thank you enough for this very complimentary comment :-)

"
hungry lips kiss in divine bliss
as longing arms find heaven
spiralling upward in desire
our tails entwined forever
the corals dance tenderly
mirror a rhythm of rapture
we let our spirits drift away
losing ourselves in turquoise"
Those lines give me the urge to float away in your passion and releasing into your lust... beautiful my dear
