The War On Thought

 
War, the collision of opposing forces
annihilation of alternative ideas
destruction of competition
the conscription of inflated hate and fear

Not water nor land, gold nor oil, only power
this is the reason for man’s greatest shame
justice freedom democracy and religion
on these tools our leaders lay the blame

As we rally to the war horn in our frenzy
and march along to their beating drum
swallow every piece of poison propaganda
to confirm, we the people, are blind and deaf and dumb

The essence of true power is control
over minds that believe themselves free
ignorance essential and rewarded
wisdom ridiculed reduced to apathy
