When the feeling's too old and the words are all used
I wanted to be seen
In a new light
Like when you are hungry, looking for food in the fridge
And the jar of peanut butter catches your eye
So I waved a red flag hoping you would see me
As you flew above circling the island I am stranded on
I hoped for help, but the SOS was hidden by trees
You were amused by the madman dancing on the beach
I tried not to be blunt because bluntness isn't attractive
All good speakers have subtlety on their side
But I am no James Joyce, all I ask is a place to hide
The creases all over you, seem warm and safe
But it's probably leased to someone else
All I can do is walk away.
