I sleep so I feel no pain
But even in sleep
Sadness always comes when I wake
Let me sleep in death
For every waking moment

Sleep can be freedom, but only if you let it. You can control your dreams and that's where waking up sucks. You wake to a loss of control. Suddenly time is no longer your puppet and people have their own opinions. This poem feels to me like a shout to regain control. Take small steps. Start with something small. The cereal you eat, the clothes you wear. Dont do these things out of habit, instead be aware that you're making the conscious decision to act in that way.
