Is Ignorance Truly Bliss?

They say that ignorance is truly bliss
Like being in a state of ultimate solace
Being blind to the lies being displayed before your eyes
Instead of being engaged and enraged; about to lose your mind
I occasionally wonder if it'd be better not to know
That many things in life are just minstrel shows
Politicians, religion & modern day slavery known as prison
Police killings causing racial tensions and creating more division
Been discovering there's nothing they won't do to prevent a living heaven
Instead it's a living hell or prison cell they'd prefer that we all dwelled in
