Hypocrites

You want me to remember all those killed on nine eleven
Then want me to forget about who you killed in ninety seven
You want me to hold dear to my heart your history
Even though it doesn't mention our rich legacy

You want me to believe that we only originated from slaves
You fail to mention the contributions to civilization my people gave
These psychological games that you play are very clever
My eyes are fully opened so that means my visions clearer

You want me to forget about the terrorist attack on Black Wall Street
Want me to take a blind eye to the lives lost week to week in these streets
At the hands of crooked police whom roam the beat acting like beasts
They seem as if they won't be content until we're all deceased

You keep trying to deflect by using the narrative of black on black crime
Giving the illusion that all races are living peacefully except for mine
You own the media outlets that keep feeding the people propaganda
I'm trying to keep hope alive but my optimism has loss it's stamina

I listen to the speeches of Malcolm, Garvey and Martin Luther King
It's upsetting to come to the realization that many things haven't changed
I keep trying to get an understanding as to why things are STILL like this
The only conclusion that I come up with is that you're a bunch of hypocrites
