...Built to endure and conquer
The cruelty of an entire nation
Deemed minority prior to existence
Forever enduring the most difficult roads, Yet somehow finding the will to strengthen in numbers...

Shades reveal stories of scorching summers overworked in fields
Sun merciless...
Tender achy fingers precisely
picking to pass the days by...

Yearning for night to fall for the coolness
Dreading night fall because of the cruelness
Beware, If seen, obscene incidents may fall upon your destiny ...

Poetikmind:

Pop! Pop! Pop! 'Darkness' bled
Shed no tears, the cop steers
the story down a lopsided street...

"It looked like he reached for..."

Blah blah, blah...
you hear, "Had to protect me..."

By now, we all know that oh
so 'overspent' speech...

The devil's in 'these tales'
the details ever sketchy...
askin' how, where, when, why
cryin' questions for answers we
achingly seek...  

Vivid M:

We achingly need...
Officers lacking compassion
People lacking empathy
Our race deemed unworthy
Intricate plots placed upon many
Lives taken like they never meant anything...

Tears well up as this pen takes a turn
Pleading for the love and unity we yearn

If blurred eyes cared to take a deeper look (instead of glance)
There is so much more underneath
Please give life a chance...

And not kill instead,
Because if harm is inflicted
Jesus, We all bleed red...

Please people, listen to the words
of what was, 'VIVID-SHE' said...
meanin' with the heart, not the head
don't think, this is just a dichotomy
I know many would think it odd of me...but I wish of a world full of variety yet we all agree everyone
live by one simple decree...

Without fear of  judgement,
Without concern of feelin' less
Without need to begrude then
We'd all feel God-blessed...

We wanna wear our skin proud
keep our kin's ship endowed
with an abundance of mutual
love n' respect... Let's push
forward towards somethin'
more, an era without a need
for destructive n' divisive dialect!!

This was an Homage to Ebony
but our hearts n' minds are open
to all n' anybody...
