River of Life
Like the ocean she is dark
keeping her depths a secret
too painful for eyes to see
Like the sea she is seducing
dancing between eb and flow
tempting with all her waves
Like water she is delicate
kissing with lips of devotion
her flavor soft and sweet
Like waterfalls she is strong
cascading into valleys of gold
where rainbows fill her soul
Like cleansing rain she cries
washing away her memories
of a dashed and broken life
Like fiery rivers she bleeds
carrying the burden of being
through the fields of eternity
Like tiny rivulets she streams
surrendering to the flow of life
her destination is still unknown

As I go back to the beginning of the over 500 or so poems I've posted. I pick and peek between all the sexy and erotic (which is me as well) find my soul in many of the other things I've composed. My autobiography......

Autobiography... yes, I think that's what we do in our poems... revealing ourselves piece by piece! I think the more you read of me (in the future) the more you will see a theme...

The intensity of emotion seemed to ascend as I read on.

People have layers. People are generally closed off, particularly, people that don't know us. One thing that I love so much about poets, is our openness, and desire to share the inner-most depths of who we are.

I love the way your stanzas cascade through the various forms and shapes water takes across the land, like you’re mapping the canals of a beautiful and mysterious soul. There’s a pretty and serene melancholy throughout; Medinda wrote a piece called “Oceans” that used similar methods to describe the space between people in a relationship, it almost could be a companion piece or a sequel to this

verse 2 swept me away with the eb and flow

verse 4 took me to Egypt with the valley of the kings
"cascading into valleys of gold
where rainbows fill her soul "
you took me to the river styx and beyond, well penned, keep'em coming.
