Morning
I had just fed the birds in the back garden wrote this a few moments later
Seeds, peanuts and meal- worms
what more do you want amongst
flower beds, ivy walls and ripening fruit?
Fledgling tits and blackbirds, dunnocks,
a chorus this early morning close and safe.
Cars in the street, start to life, night's
humid grasp dispersing in the
morning breeze, bed sheets to air a
shower to wash away the sleep found
hard to seek as the moon shone bright,
leaving darkness fulfilling the day as
pigeons strut the roof and magpies watch.
So day proceeds, lorries in the streets
crawl their way to everywhere, that distant
place from which all things come.
