Seeing What He Does to You

I cannot turn away as I watch you secretly cry.
What good does he do if he always makes you sad?
Although you say you want to try

With him again, you should not. You should be mad
That he treats you badly. You deserve more than being
Treated like dirt. If you need a hug I am glad

To do that, but I am still always seeing
What he is doing to you. He promises to stay,
But he is going to continue to be leaving

You time and time again. His eye wanders like a stray
Bullet because he is always on the lookout for someone
Better and an easier mark. He will always find a way

To tear you down and make you come undone
Quicker than you have time to process.
He only has his sights on something that is fun

With no strings attached. He will make you feel less
Like a human and more like a toy. Once he is done with
You he will throw you away. He will leave the mess

Behind for someone else to pick up. Love is a myth
To him and he does not believe in any of it. He will never
Make you feel first, he will make you feel like you are fifth

Or last on his list of priorities. He will quickly sever
This relationship or whatever this is with you.
It is not your fault if he does not see you as his forever.

He is never going to settle or to be completely into
You because he is not wired to live that way. He does not
Deserve to see the good and true parts of you that shine through

The darkness because he is the one who brought
You nothing. You kept on giving, but you know
That he is not worthy of getting caught.
