Cocaine Etiquette
there are unwritten rules
lines that aren't to be crossed
when doing cocaine
at parties there is always those holding
a crowd gathers hoping to get a line
I love being the queen of snow
showing everybody a good time
a tension in the air
as the party grows
knowing each person
has a nose
all wanting a line
don't ask for one though
you'll be sure not to get one
being left out of the drug car
people love the power
cocaine wields
addicts itching with discomfort
over eager you're out
money is King
power over the lowly
even better
get women to show
their tits for a little blow
I know i've done it
it's the cocaine scene
it can be bloody cruel
unless you're willing
to whore yourself out

You've described the addiction scene perfectly, Crim.
There are rules in everything, even those unspoken.

yep. exactly.
you'll be out in the hall excluded from the goody room with a quickness.
I gotta have my own shit, no squirming for me ;)
fortunately, i have a heart for only weed (now) lol
excellent ink, really transported me back to some crazy times.
much love xo

Coke. It stands right up there as a cause of so much pain and humiliation in this old world.

Brenda.. you just explained to me a scene, i've never truly known.. i've always been the drinker, and some other goodies here and there.. but i had an old friend from high school, do coke in front of me.. he said, put a little powder on your tongue.. obviously it numbed it.. but then he said, you don't need to do anything else with this shit.. it will control you, if you have an addictive soul.. which i did have.. he said, you're too talented to rely on this vice.. i thought he was just being an asshole at first.. because at that time, i would have tried anything.. the ironic thing was, we weren't even close friends.. but under the influence he told me.. trust me, i know you want a bump.. but you got a gift, and it will rob you of it.. and he had only read two of my poems.. just thought i'd share a little truth.. around every corner, was another demon.. but there were truly some human angels out there.. who knew alcohol was already, a vice and i didn't need another.. that's where my hope for society, starts with.. anyways killer write.. i've never shared that story.. love you!!

Love your honesty and insight Crim. This is a fascinating look at the finer points of coke sharing, how desperation doesn't cut it. It's the casual ones that always seem to get the blow. This also applies to getting laid at times. It's the cool and collected who get the prize. There are other means that you've pointed out, again in all honesty. You've come a long way baby. Excellent write!

Cool poem, Crim. Your observations are razor sharp, like everyone's already said, you've nailed the party scene c-c-c-c-cocaine shenanigans. Great lines!
