In the cold of the night
The earth trembles, she senses the way my heart has broken
The sound of tree roots ripping from the soil fills the air
Loud clashes or thunder add to the terrifying ballad
Sound crashing my ears, from every direction
I feel my face, paling complexion
Then silence, I see the ground spinning up toward me
I cringe in pain, struggle to breathe
So this is the end?
I'd be better off dead
I see your silhouette
Even as I couldn't see your face
A cool mist captures me in a suffocating embrace
I hear snaps of twigs
You beckon me near
"Come here my dear"
All I feel is fear
But even so I move forward, toward the beast
Your breath on my neck, colder than ice
A wild howl shakes me to my core
Sharp blades for teeth, sinking deep into my neck
Salty tears roll down my face, over my lips
I'm wrapped in a cold mist, I'm in so much pain as you drink the life out of me
I am not sure which is worse, the pain in my chest where my heart once rest
Or the pain as you devour me from my neck
I awaken in my bed, screaming and gasping for air
Still in my nightgown, twas but a dream
When will you leave me to sleep in peace?
I ponder over this, as a howl greets me from a distance in the cold of the night
The sound of tree roots ripping from the soil fills the air
Loud clashes or thunder add to the terrifying ballad
Sound crashing my ears, from every direction
I feel my face, paling complexion
Then silence, I see the ground spinning up toward me
I cringe in pain, struggle to breathe
So this is the end?
I'd be better off dead
I see your silhouette
Even as I couldn't see your face
A cool mist captures me in a suffocating embrace
I hear snaps of twigs
You beckon me near
"Come here my dear"
All I feel is fear
But even so I move forward, toward the beast
Your breath on my neck, colder than ice
A wild howl shakes me to my core
