Yes, my shovel gets heavy at the end of the day but striking oil and seeing a new poem burst from the well into words on virgin paper, ahh the ink gushes so passionately...

I find a lot of inspiration from my two lost decades,  
Brenda.They are mostly dark poems. If I am needing  
inspiration of another kind it is a short walk to the bank  
of Bayou Lafourche. (Alligators are there in abundance).  
Plus it is just a great place to sit/lay and behold its beauty.  
Sometimes I imagine the pirates bold who used to sail  
the waters of south Louisiana. Of course there are the  
presence of voodoo around these swamps.

I feel you on that Jerry as much of my inspiration comes from a dark past as well..

such an enchanting place you describe is your home..
