about the flower
I saw the flower passing by
its color of song within my eye
ten thousand lights
displayed inside
ten thousand frets
my heart strums quiet,
and over the fair view and harmony,
it became the universe...

Life is rich in all it's permutations. Colors that sing, voices that stir within, sights that overawe the mind. Read Voltaire's story Micromegas if you are unfamiliar. It is a creative perspective on just how small a human being is.
I remember when my old friend took me to see his grandmother in the hospital. It was to say goodbye, though this was left unspoken. She had the gray pallor of death that I have only seen a few times before and her voice was so thin and weak, as if it were already issuing forth from that undiscovered country. She told me she was proud of him, of all her grandchildren, he kissed her brow. All I did was smile. This big, hard cheeked smile. I couldn't think of anything else to do. Sometimes there are no words.

I have sat too many times holding the hand to the gray pallor of death, including my mother's. No words, but she heard me, and then let go.

Perfect! Every living thing is a universe unto itself - and those who pay attention.
Beautiful looking, Pisha.

I really love that quote, John, thank you. Feynman said that we cannot create what we do not understand. More and more, I understand that more than anything. :)
