Childhood Daisies
such beautiful happy flowers
easily twined into a head
wreath
he loves me
he loves me not
he loves me
a handful of sunshine
to brighten
a dreary table
day
dancing on the breeze
mingling with tall
grasses
sweet smell of summer
they curled up in the
green
white dresses covered
with petals
flowers tucked behind their ears
sweet giggles
sing song
daisy do
daisy don't
daisy will
daisy won't
daisy chain
daisy dew drops
pushing up daisies
*artist photo unknown*
"If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies.”
