"Caged"

Ever since a young pup
It's all been bad ,
Once again locked up
And my mind's gone mad ~
Trapped behind bars
A lot of years wasted ,
I made this life hard
Tears of pain is all I tasted ~
Troubled since a teen
With a short fuse ,
I'm going to hell it seems
Couldn't walk in these shoes ~
Started off in foster homes
No family around ,
Always felt all alone
Like a dog in the pound ~
Can't sew my seems
Or even carve a niche ,
And if anyone asks me
I'll tell 'em life's a bitch ~
The future looks dim
I can't see the light ,
I'm in jail again
My freedom out of sight ~
Now I'm facing more years
Cause of one bad choice ,
I done ran out of tears
And I'm out of a voice ~
No more words to speak
In this life that's rough ,
I'm tired and I'm weak
This man has had enough ~
Suicide has been tested
And I'm still stuck here ,
Still searching for an exit
I hate the man in the mirror ~
No matter how hard I try
I still can't change ,
So I guess until I die
I'll be locked in a cage ~
