Lazarus
Could Donald Trump
Be America's Jesus?
Could he cure the lethargy
That does beseige us?
Can he cure the doldrums
Caused by past elections?
His style is to polarize
He highlights imperfections
He'll be stirring the pot
All the way to election
Talking women and walls
Making hints at erections
His claim is Republican
Scares the shit out his party
He's brash, loud, and harsh
And who likes his style? Me
He keeps folks hoppin
What next? Is the suspense
He won't let you snore
Or just sit on the fence
He'll make you do something
Choose which road you will take
If America was asleep
Bet your Ass now it's awake!

Re. Lazarus
Were I an American voter I would choose not to vote for him, I would certainly not be apathetic. Unlike other major party presidential candidates he has had no legislative experience (Representative, Senator, State Governor, City Mayor etc.) nor has he studied or practised law yet he wants to be chief legislator. He has (granted it was medical reasons) done no military service but he wants to be commander-in-chief, with all that this implies. I could not think of someone less suitably experienced and who demonstrates far more power (in his case business power) than he does the responsibility that should go with it (he has fought Scottish planning laws and local public opinion in UK to get a golfing complex built). As to being America's Jesus? - he appears to sit uneasily with Jesus Christ's teachings from the Sermon on the Mount and elsewhere about adultery and how we treat those who disagree with us, although I respect his right to suggest how his country's security be safeguarded.

Couldn't agree more. However, I'm quite certain that voters who voiced no opinion now speak. And political powers and pundits alike who were happy with business as usual must now deal with someone whose money matches their own. Trust me, the Jesus reference is in eff5only. Not importance.

I had an uncle (died 1990) who became a US citizen after settling in San Francisco after leaving the Canadian Navy. I am sure he would have voted against Trump, he was certainly critical of Reagan who at least had been California state governor and a USAAF officer.

Thanks for reading my piece. I'm just happy someone stopped by. I love controversy sometimes. And right now Trump is king

I don’t really like to share political views or opinions over the internet because it’s truly a controversy issue. But if Donald Trump was standing in front of me, I’d bend over and tell him to kiss the crack of my ass, but since I’m a lady, I’ll save my energy for someone one can win my vote on merits I approve of. Much enjoyed!

Hello beautiful, honored to hear from you. I disagree with most of his politics, but hate the fact that no other candidate addresses the issues he does with any type of feeling. They remind me of the bland guy in the Visine "dry eyes" commercial. However, I just love that he gets response from the otherwise apathetic. The dead truly have risen!

If I am reading you right, I concur with your central thesis. It does take a turn in an ugly direction sometimes to get people out of their boxes.

And that is my point. He sucks. but he says the ugly things many people think, yet keep inside

Scarier than his rhetoric is the real possibility he might win ... So yes you're right he's poked a sleeping bear because you have to wonder who are these people voting for him.

don't know if he could win, but he will account for the highest voter turnout ever. with so many recent elections that were 51% over 49%, Trump's supporters are the folks who were in the group of folks that just missed getting their candidate elected. Kinda hard to keep peace in a society where nearly 150 million people do not get what they want.
