Dark Sunglasses
She reaches for the stars
Through steel bars,
As the beauty they reveal
She holds tightly in her hand.
The only beauty left at times,
The world hadn't onto her been kind.
If only the stars were fortune tellers, they'd realize she was blind to their fiery beauty, beauty she didn't even know, emotions she no longer shows,
For she hides behind dark sunglasses, Everyday comes,a world unseen as time passes.
She picks a freshly bloomed rose from a ghostly bush, thorns piercing fingers, her fingers numb to the pain, her eyes blind to the blood trickling from her fingers unto a shadow of nothing,
For all she sees though things continue to happen is nothing behind those dark sunglasses.
She climbs a tree, for what it wasn't clear.
Most would climb to have a closer look at the clouds in the sky or the crowds like ants on the ground,
She isn't aware of her uphill battle, thoughts she couldn't even have them.
She sits on a spirit like branch, feeling of nothingness,
The world had taught her it was ugly, nothing less, Her soul was hidden along with her sight, She'd given up on fighting,
And so she turned to ashes, a cloud of smoke, the only part left her dark sunglasses.
