The thing about Bukowski

Truly my favorite writer.
He was just the first poet,
that ever held any appeal for me.
Previously, I stuck with horror authors.
With poets,I felt that I was getting a real view of them personally.
With the horror guys,
I only ever felt inferior.
They're so damn smart.
Poetry,and prose granted more freedoms.
Just like any art.
No border,no problems.
I love the spontaneity.
Hell with it.
Save the edits for later, just belt it out.
That very moment,on record.
A living journal,
if you so choose to do it that way.
I don't really feel keen on contrived pieces,so I do.
It never works out,and usually feels forced.
I hate making up rhymes...
So if they occur naturally,
 I'm just fine with it.
Freedom baby.
Bukowski taught me nothing,
about style,or form.
I know nothing of those things.
It was his honesty,
and acceptance of personal truths...
even the ugliest of truths,
that inspired me to do the same.
Just Bukowski, being Bukowski.
He was also prolific, as hell.
Whichbis a characteristic of his,
I'd like to mimic.
Fortunately,I just can't shut up.
