The Road Back Home

you call to me from the depths
seeing you in my dreamscapes
enraptured by you
though I've let you down

I weep crimson tears
for the time lost
your spirit entwined with mine
licking at my soul

so close yet so far away
calling on me, calling on me
fallen and unreachable am I
needing your arms about me

knowing this is an impossibility
I fall away into the abyss
where I am cradled in loneliness
suckled at the throne of despair

my King I've missed you
my Goddess I've longed for you
lost in my mind
I couldn't reach you

my ringer off the hook
I vanished in my own madness
where I sought shelter
from the reality of never touching you

here is home
where we caress without hands
weeping and laughing as one
I love you, need you

I kneel before you
kissing your sore spots
bedecked in pain
I've traveled the land of forgotten

yet I felt your arms about me
while lost there
gracing me with a light
to find my way back

I'm home.
