Writers Across The Divide

There are writers whose pens engage, arouse, and entice
penetrate though all kinds of barriers
leaving beings still influenced by societal conventions
raw and without any room to wiggle out of introspection
There are writers whose sensuality of thought
makes what at first glance is an acceptable response
feel utterly inadequate
a vicarious state longed for if direct exposure impossible
Writers who brilliantly make a mosaic so beautiful
mind grabs that transcends the biographies of the constructors
leaving readers sexually charged
igniting realms of discovery
even crafting mental torture in
squaring what is with what is imagined
And so as one totally flawed human
with a questionable capacity for love
I admit to my status
having been engaged in strands of copy
and worked to a frenzy of self-gratification
my plight accented by vocal shadings
Ask you to do what you will with my confession
a reason for humor or displeasure
but never to be mistaken for insincerity
seek out the desired consequences
for superb compositions
that emanate for your distinct voices
they are there
if merely concealed by a brilliant disguise
