The Parable of the Good Samaritan: Has Christ Spoken it in Vain?

The story goes, a man is robbed, left half dead.
A priest and then a Levite ignore him as he's lying there.
But a foreigner (a Samaritan), passing by,comes to his aid.

Martin Luther King explained that parable this way:
The Good Samaritan thought like this:
"What will happen to him(the crime victim)
if I don't help him?"
While the others, the priest and the Levite,
thought like this,"What might happen to me if i help him?"
They thought only about themselves.
But the Good Samaritan had a larger sense of self (collective identity),
that included the man who had been robbed and beaten.

The Republican candidates for President of the USA
who want to keep out thousands of needy Syrian refugees
Just because there may be a terrorist among them  -
They are like the priest and the Levite in Christ's parable.

Who among the GOP candidates stands with the Good Samaritan
on this issue? That's what I want to know. He or she will get my vote.

In His parable about being a good neighbor(Luke 10.29-37),
It seems like Christ has wasted His breath.

PS: Rather than hope you will look it up,
I'll just write out the Parable of the Good Samaritan:
Someone asks Christ, "And who is my neighbor?"(Luke 10.29).
(verse 30)"Jesus answered..A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho
and fell among thieves who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him and departed,
leaving him half dead.
(verse 31)Now by chance a certain priest came down that road.
And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
(verse 32)Likewise a Levite, when he came.. and saw, he passed by on the other side.
(verse 33)But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was.
And when he saw him, he had compassion.
(verse 34)So he came to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.
And he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him.
(verse 35)On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii,
gave them to the innkeeper and said to him, take care of him and
whatever more you spend,WHEN I COME AGAIN, I WILL REPAY YOU.
(Verse 36)So which of these three do you think
was neighbor to him who fell among thieves?
(Verse 37)He said, he who showed mercy unto him.
Then Jesus said to him, go and do likewise."

I like those words, "When I come again, I will repay you."
Christ will come again, and repay us for the good we do.
Try to grasp what that means.
