Dare I Say
My life’s awash with hesitation.
I know that you want me to stay.
I know you seek my dedication,
but I’m sorry to say,
I must leave you,
because I need you.
I must forget you,
because I love you.
You keep on claiming my salvation.
You keep on saying that I should pray,
but all I see is my damnation.
And that’s okay.
And so I say,
I must leave you,
because I need you.
I must forget you,
because I love you.
I know you seek my divination,
but I am not who you portray.
I seek freedom, not trepidation.
And so today,
Dare I say,
I must leave you,
because I need you.
I must forget you,
because I love you.
I know that you want me to stay.
I know you seek my dedication,
but I’m sorry to say,
I must leave you,
because I need you.
I must forget you,
because I love you.
You keep on claiming my salvation.
You keep on saying that I should pray,
but all I see is my damnation.
And that’s okay.
And so I say,
I must leave you,
because I need you.
I must forget you,
because I love you.
I know you seek my divination,
but I am not who you portray.
I seek freedom, not trepidation.
And so today,
Dare I say,
I must leave you,
because I need you.
I must forget you,
because I love you.
