My God NO

We'd never met
but I knew of her

Her uncle
shared
enough of her life
The
life in her
on social circles
in his
pik-tures

I grew fond
of the girl
even if
she'd been
informally
introduced

In pleasantries
and niceties
I'd send love
regards
thoughts
through messages

Her uncle, a good man
I'd suspect he
lived the hard life
but he did it
with music
We all know
the life of music
and love
is a good life

I missed the wires
the day Alice
became an angel
a heavenly child
Caught the end
of the messages
after it was late

But sadness filled my veins
pain crashed my heart
I remember screaming
"Oh Fuck
I'm so sorry Dan
my favorite, Sax Man."

-x-
