The Night Sky Dims
The night sky dims
As stars fade
and then die
Never reaching their full potential.
With their last breath
The Earth is slowly drained of its
brilliance.
Their face may have smiled
But it was a mask
Each day growing heavier
With Earth's gravitational pull
Until they could not take it
anymore.
And now I look around me,
and I wonder what went wrong?
Where have all the brave ones gone?
Why do only fools live long?
I am left with too many questions
When a good soul
passes on.

I like to think the brave ones live on...in our memories, and in our words s poets. How they lived shapes us, and lives on in that manner as well. Nobody remembers a fool long, much less what he stood for. The pain of a brave one's passing is but testament to their worth never diminished. Just my take... though I can certainly relate to the ache of this one.
