Autumn

Autumn is spreading, rearing its head
The trees are each turning to yellow and red
Rainbow leaves whisper, they rustle and crack
The wind smells of chimneys with smoke in their stacks

Pumpkins make faces on every doorstep
Sweaters buttoned and boots all strapped
Small children frolic in costume and mask
To gather up candy and fill up their sacks

The daylight shrinks and night takes its hold
The ghouls play tricks and you may get trolled
No matter how old or what mask you wear,
There's magic alive in the crisp autumn air!
