Insomnia Ponderings
Oh why can I not keep my eyes closed?
Until the morning light opens them for me
When the sun traces its rays of prose,
Through the grains of sand along the endless sea
Oh why must I rise free from sleep?
Before the scores of singing sheep
Are truly through soothing my roaring dreams
And settled in meadow grassy peaks
The stars are bright against the night
And under covers, internal dialogues fight
While I toss and turn, not caring who's right
Pinching my eyelids, closing them tight
Oh why must this troubled mind sing?
Writing a song about everything
Impatient for creations that sunrise brings
Taking up late night juggling
Until the morning light opens them for me
When the sun traces its rays of prose,
Through the grains of sand along the endless sea
Oh why must I rise free from sleep?
Before the scores of singing sheep
Are truly through soothing my roaring dreams
And settled in meadow grassy peaks
The stars are bright against the night
And under covers, internal dialogues fight
While I toss and turn, not caring who's right
Pinching my eyelids, closing them tight
Oh why must this troubled mind sing?
Writing a song about everything
Impatient for creations that sunrise brings
Taking up late night juggling
