From blood to dust, and back again

With every light comes a shadow
And with life comes death
There is life that thrives above the ground
And also thriving on the death below
For without death
There is no life
And without life
Death provides

The lion lives to kill
The gazelle would kill to live
But that's just how things are
Above the dirt or below the water
Are stories told in scars

From beetles gorging in rotting flesh
To trees thriving on our exhausted breath
Day gives way to night
The sparrow sleeps as the bat takes flight

Every up has a down
And from that down
Something comes up
Wales die and become sustenance for the bottom feeders
Everything dies to feed the people
But if people died
Everything would thrive
Because death provides

Death feeds life
And life becomes death
From blood to dust, and back again
Night gives way to day
But the shadows are never far away

What's the purpose of human life?
To feed the zombies when they arrive
Then death will feed on death
Because death provides
